Gyro Briefcase Exhibition by Hands On!

Gyro Briefcase

This briefcase leads visitors by the hand in a phenomenal exploration of physics.

Gyro Briefcase Exhibition by Hands On!Visitors experiment with inertia and momentum using a motorized gyroscope mounted in a briefcase. Clear Lexan side panels reveal its inner workings. To begin, the visitor pushes a start button and the electric motor within the briefcase accelerates the gyroscope. Once the gyro has reached full speed, a light signals the visitor to remove the briefcase from its charging stand and feel the effects as their arm is pulled back and forth by the forces from the gyroscope. Tilting the briefcase or trying to walk in a circle creates fun, dramatic motion as the gyroscope resists any change in position.
